Music Maths - A Printable Note Values Activity Pack
Music Maths - A Printable Note Values Activity Pack is a fun, playful introduction to musical note values, designed to help young beginners understand rhythm through simple addition.
Across five activity pages, children meet friendly note characters, explore their values and practise adding them together. The exercises start simply and become gradually more challenging, with quavers introduced later in the pack.
It includes:
Five coordinated activity pages
Meet the Note Values, introducing Chris the Crotchet, Millie the Minim and Sammy the Semibreve
Simple note-value addition to build confidence
Further practice combining crotchets, minims and semibreves
An introduction to Quaver Quinn and the half-beat value
Mixed addition exercises combining all four note values
Clear black-and-white layouts for easy printing
Whether you’re introducing rhythm in a piano lesson or supporting music learning at home, this pack offers a practical, creative way to connect counting with musical notation.
Ideal for:
Young beginner music students
Parents supporting learning at home
Piano teachers and music studios
Primary music classrooms
Home educators
Designed to support structured, confident learning through Private Piano Tuition UK.
This is a digital download.
After purchase, you will receive one PDF containing five A4 activity pages to download and print at home or through a professional printing service. No physical item will be sent.
The PDF supplied is without the copyright wrap shown in the preview image.
🖨️ Printing
For best results, I recommend:
Printing on standard white A4 paper or slightly thicker stock (120-160gsm)
Selecting “Fit to page” to keep the decorative borders visible
Using pencils for the written activities
Working through the pages in order, at your child’s or student’s own pace
Keeping the first page nearby as a reference during the addition activities
If you’d like this resized or formatted differently, feel free to get in touch - I’m always happy to help.
