Musical Texture – GCSE Music Revision Poster (A4 & A3)

£2.49

How the layers fit together: the four main textures explained in plain words, each with a familiar example.

On the poster

• Monophonic (one line), homophonic (moving together), polyphonic or contrapuntal (independent lines) and heterophonic (one tune, decorated), with examples such as plainchant, a hymn, a fugue and a round

• More texture words: unison, melody & accompaniment, imitation, canon / round, countermelody and layered

• Exam tip: name the texture, because “thick” or “thin” on its own isn’t enough

Inside

• A4 PDF (210 × 297 mm)

• A3 PDF (297 × 420 mm)

Poster 2 of 8 in the GCSE Music revision poster set. Each poster is available on its own, or you can get all eight in the Pack of 8.

The poster carries the line "Supports GCSE Music: AQA · Edexcel · OCR · Eduqas", and heterophonic is labelled as an Edexcel term. This is an independent revision aid. It is not produced or endorsed by any exam board.

Format: Instant digital download (one ZIP containing the A4 and A3 PDFs). No physical item is posted and the frame is not included. Print at home, at a local print shop or with an online print service.

Licence: For personal use, or for use with your own pupils in a single teacher's studio. Please don't resell or share the files.
